Kiwi is not just a boot polish

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

Who would have thought Kiwi is not just a boot polish, it’s also the name of a flightless bird native to New Zealand and a fruit! The list is endless.

Did you know, Kiwi polish came onto the market in 1906. It was the invention of two Scotsmen who opened a boot polish factory in Melbourne, Australia in 1904. It was originally sold to farmers who used it to preserve the leather boots they wore. The polish became popular with British and American soldiers during World War One, as it helped to waterproof, their boots. The polish is also well known for its ability to produce a high shine and cover scuffs on leather shoes.

So, it was Scottish Aussies who were to blame for all those wasted hours bulling my boots, when I could have been out on the p**s and chasing women. Thank God, I discovered Seal, Clear and Morello, which once applied did the same job in 2 minutes. If you’re after a funny holiday read check out ENDEX. www.clivewardauthor.com
